I've owned a couple SW radios (still have a Sony SW7600)

I've scanned different short wave bands...actually all bands listening for any talk I could find, but never specifically listened to the 2-meter band. Probably scanned through it and moved on...

Having a 2-meter band on my new "portable" AM/FM radio is sort of neat, but guess I'll have to wait until the next hurricane before I hear anything on that band.

Was looking through the Amazon reviews of my Sony, and saw the BBC no longer broadcasts to North or South America. They recommended buying an "internet" radio to receive those broadcasts.

I'm actually enjoying playing with radios again. The AM and FM reception on my new C.Crane radio is clearly better than every other radio I own, including my old Sony.
